Green Vibes

The Green in Green Fox means an environmental ethos runs though our whole business. This means no poisons or toxic chemicals, using electric equipment wherever possible, adhering to permaculture principles, regeneration projects in our local community, planning & planting edible gardens, holistic orchards and helping with veggie patch management. We love planting natives and edibles, adding beehives to a property, and promoting self-sufficiency and food resiliency whenever we can.

COMMON QUESTIONS +

How do I prepare for my first landscaping design session?

A good starting think is to have a think about what you like and don’t like in a garden. Gather any images of gardens, design elements, plants, aesthethics and colours you love. Have a think about function and how you want your garden space to be used eg playing games, relaxing, maintaining, growing edibles. And lastly, consider how much time you want to spent working or maintaining your garden. Answers to all of these questions will guide your final design.

Can I still have a garden if my backyard is shaded?

Absolutely. You may not be growing tomatoes and cucumbers but there are plenty of plants, flowers and edibles that do well in full or partial shade. There are also plenty of other features you can design beyond just growing eg pizza oven, petanque court, pond or water feature.

What’s The Best Time To Begin A Landscape Project?

The two best times to start your project are Spring and Autumn. Designing and planting in spring will give you plenty of enjoyment as you watch your new landscape establish and transform your space. Autumn is great as the cooler weather means less stress on plants, which means they adapt better and require less watering and maintenance.

What tools do you use?

For the majority of our garden work and maintenance we either use electric or manual tools. Our quiver of electric tools includes mower, weed eater, blower and hedge trimmers. Did you know that in some states in the US, petrol driven tools have been banned because of the polution they cause ! We strive to always minimise our impact on the planet
